ICMP maintains five facilities that support its Forensic Science Program. These include two DNA Laboratories, and an Identification Coordination Division that works on missing persons cases from anywhere in the world. Three mortuary facilities serve to house and analyze mortal remains of persons recovered from conflict-related grave sites in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The ICMP also has centers for blood reference sample and ante mortem data collection around the region of the Western Balkans where families of the missing can come in and provide a reference sample and ante mortem information about their missing relatives. In addition, ICMP employs mobile teams to collect samples from relatives of the missing.
